Luxi Group is making every effort to build a zero-emission industrial park. According to the safety production meeting held by Luxi Group in October 2020, as of now, 7 business units within the group’s chemical industrial park have achieved zero emissions. At the beginning of this year, LuXi Group’s Document No. 1 set the goal of establishing a “zero-emission park”. Each production facility first sets the goal of establishing zero-emission facilities, then creates a zero-emission department, and subsequently develops a zero-emission park, implementing these steps in a phased manner. Lusi Group has always adhered to the sustainable development concept of safety, sustainability, and circularity, and is committed to building green industrial parks. In 2015, to further reduce pollutant emissions from boiler flue gas, the group carried out upgrades to achieve ultra-low emissions from boiler flue gas in advance. The project was researched, designed, installed, commissioned, and operated by the group itself. By utilizing the self-developed deep ammonia desulfurization technology, SCR denitration process, and wet electrostatic demisting and dust removal technology, all modifications were completed and the system came online in March 2016. The contents of SO2, NOx, and dust in the emitted flue gas are far below the national control standards, meeting the ultra-low emission standards. In October 2015, Luxi Group established a project team for zero wastewater discharge, officially embarking on the path of exploring and developing technologies for zero wastewater discharge. The project is divided into two phases; Phase 1 has a design treatment capacity of 600 m3/h and is primarily used to treat concentrated water from chemical treatment processes as well as water resulting from resin regeneration. It was put into operation in April 2017. The second phase has a designed treatment capacity of 1,200 m³/h. Utilizing technology provided by Hangzhou Lanran Environment Co., Ltd., it primarily treats high-salinity water, circulating cooling water discharge, and wastewater after biological treatment. It became operational in May 2019. In June 2019, Luxi Group became the first among chemical parks across the country to achieve zero wastewater discharge from its park. It is reported that during the recycling process of Luxi Group’s wastewater, three by-products are produced: sodium chloride, mirabilite, and calcium sludge. Sodium chloride is used within the park as a raw material for chlor-alkali industry, while gypsum is used as a desulfurization agent in boilers; mirabilite is sold externally as a raw material or additive for industries such as papermaking and glass manufacturing. Currently, out of the 1,300 m³/h of wastewater generated by Luxi Group, 1,100 m³/h can be recycled after being treated by the zero-liquid-discharge system. This has enabled the Group to achieve the goals of “zero discharge” into the Zhaoniu River and “water conservation”. At the same time, it has also provided valuable experience for other chemical industrial parks to achieve zero wastewater discharge.
