On November 30, the 90% model review for the technical upgrade project of the 45,000 Nm3/h syngas plant at Yangmei Group’s Zibo Qilu First Fertilizer Company, which was undertaken under EPC contract by Huisheng Engineering (China) Co., Ltd., was successfully completed, marking the entry of the project into the final stage of detailed design. In this project, 90% of the model reviews received great attention from both the client and HYSY. Liu Zhen, the deputy general manager of the client’s company, Wang Jun, the technical director, and the persons in charge of various key tasks were present throughout the process. Representatives from various technology and process patent holders also attended. The HYSY project team took charge of the piping design aspect, with the professionals in charge of that area as well as those in charge of other key tasks participating in the meetings. In accordance with the requirements for reviewing EPC 3D models, various specialties have enabled the creation of integrated multi-specialty models, allowing for the visual review of all elements within the entire plant. During the review process, both parties re-traced and verified the issues raised in the 60% model review. They also engaged in in-depth exchanges and discussions regarding all process units, as well as the layout of air separation, gasification, coal grinding, slag water treatment, low-temperature methanol recovery, shift conversion, PSA, sulfur recovery systems, off-site piping throughout the plant, various tank farms, the underground pipeline network across the plant, and the routing of instrument and electrical cable trays. The review team submitted review comments requiring modifications, creating conditions for advancing the detailed design of the project. After 10 days of intensive coordination, Zhang Hao, Chairman of the Owner’s Board, expressed great satisfaction with the project design. He hopes to make the Yangquan Coal & Electricity Qilu Yihua project a benchmark project. Cui Hongxing, Senior Vice President of Huisheng Engineering, called on the various design teams involved in the project to redouble their efforts to ensure that the detailed design work is completed to high standards by the end of January 2022.
