On March 30, 2025, with the issuance of the order to suspend operations, the 55-day maintenance and upgrade project aimed at replacing the old equipment and improving energy efficiency at Aksu Huajin Fertilizer Company officially began. This energy-saving upgrade and renovation of old equipment is centered around the \"Urea Plant Energy-Saving Upgrade Project\"; simultaneously, the \"Air Compressor Energy-Saving Upgrade Project\" and the \"Upgrade Project for Inefficient Steam Boilers\" are carried out as well. Taking this opportunity for upgrades, projects to replace old equipment and carry out maintenance repairs are also implemented, thereby effectively addressing issues such as equipment aging and high energy consumption, enhancing the company’s core competitive advantages, and laying a solid foundation for its green transformation and development. The energy-saving upgrade of the urea plant involves using four Stamicarbon high-pressure units purchased for the original Inner Mongolia Huajin project to replace the existing high-pressure equipment, thereby optimizing the operation of the plant. In early March 2025, the hoisting of 4 high-voltage devices was completed. Xinjiang Aksu Huajin Fertilizer Co., Ltd. uses natural gas as raw material and adopts the Kellogg process from the United States. The natural gas undergoes conversion in stages one and two, as well as decarburization; ammonia synthesis is carried out using Topsoe technology from Denmark, while urea production is achieved through Stamicarbon’s CO2 stripping technology from the Netherlands. The company produces 450,000 tons of synthetic ammonia and 800,000 tons of urea per year. Put into operation in 2006. Before this renovation, the plant’s design capacity was 2,610 tons per day. Due to limitations such as medium-pressure equipment and the evaporation system, the actual production capacity of the plant is 1,900 tons per day. Following this renovation, the capacity of the high and medium pressure equipment meets a production rate of 2,610 tons per day, while the urea production capacity is evaluated at 2,100 tons per day.
