In a notice issued in February 2026 by the Public Resources Trading Center of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, Aerospace Changzheng Chemical Engineering Co., Ltd. was awarded the contract for providing patent technology licensing, procurement of patented equipment, development of process technology packages, and technical services related to the gasification unit of the Demonstration Project for the Low-Carbon Transformation and Upgrading of Intelligent, Ecologically Integrated Green Special Resins (Phase I) carried out by Xinjiang Trina New Materials Co., Ltd. The winning bid amount was 98.38 million yuan. Tianchen Company won the bid for the foundation design of the demonstration project (Phase I). The winning bid amount was 13.8 million yuan. According to the aerospace company, the project will use two aerospace furnaces with a daily coal feeding capacity of 3,000 tons and a quenching pressure of 6.5 MPa. According to the tender announcement, the Intelligent Ecological Coupling Green Special Resin Low-Carbon Transformation and Upgrading Demonstration Project (Phase I) of Xinjiang Trina New Materials Co., Ltd. employs a new green and low-carbon process for producing ethanol from syngas. It aims to establish the first demonstration project in China for transforming traditional calcium carbide-based PVC production processes using coal-based ethylene production methods, thereby promoting the adoption of advanced equipment technologies and facilitating the transformation and upgrading of the chlor-alkali industry. The project consists of two segments: the ethanol segment and the chlor-alkali segment. The ethanol segment includes coal storage and transportation, air separation, boilers, gasification, purification, low-temperature methanol washing, ethanol production, 90,000 m3/h of product gas, as well as associated auxiliary facilities. The chlor-alkali sector includes ethylene production from ethanol, VCM monomer, PVC, waste salt treatment, ion-exchange membrane caustic soda plants, and raw material warehouses. The project mainly involves the construction of facilities for coal storage and transportation, coal gasification, purification, H2/CO separation, an ethanol production plant with a capacity of 600,000 tons per year, a facility for producing ethylene from ethanol dehydration, a VCM monomer production plant, a PVC production plant with a capacity of 500,000 tons per year, and an ion-exchange membrane caustic soda production plant with a capacity of 350,000 tons per year.
