According to Sinochem New Network, recently Petrobras announced its plan to restart the Bahia Fertilizers plant in Camacari city in January 2026. At present, the plant has entered the final stage of maintenance, with system commissioning across the entire facility underway in full swing. It is reported that Petrobras had previously disclosed in September of this year that the Bahia Fertilizers plant was originally scheduled to resume operations by the end of 2025. As an important part of the company’s strategy to return to the fertilizer sector, the plant is designed to produce approximately 1,300 tons of urea and ammonia per day, and it can also manufacture the gasoline additive Arla 32. To ensure a stable supply of raw materials, Petrobras has signed an agreement with the Brazilian state-owned natural gas distribution company Bayanaire, under which the latter is required to supply 1.2 million cubic meters of natural gas per day. It is worth noting that the resumption of operations in Pakistan’s oil, fertilizer, and chemical industries is progressing in an orderly manner. In addition to the Bahia Fertilizers plant, the company restarted the urea production line at the Aracari Nitrogen Fertilizers plant in Paraná state in August this year, and plans to resume operations at the Serro Azul Fertilizers plant in Serro Azul state by early 2026. According to the data, the designed maximum production capacity of the Serikpeti fertilizer plant is 1,800 tons of urea and 1,250 tons of ammonia per day, with the possibility of producing carbon dioxide as a by-product.
