According to reports from January 2026, the synthetic refined gas technology, developed by Kaiyang Chemical as a domestic innovation to replace traditional water-gas technology, was granted **patent approval in December 2025. This provides a replicable and scalable model for upgrading the fuel gas supply systems of similar gasifiers in the chemical industry. For a long time, the fuel gas for the permanent flame in the gasification furnace at Kaiyang Chemical has relied mainly on two old water-gas compressors for supply. As the service life of the equipment increases, compressors gradually enter a period with a high incidence of failures, becoming a significant bottleneck that hinders the continuous and stable operation of the production system. The Kaiyang Chemical Technology R&D team fully tapped into the potential of existing synthetic refined gas resources, carried out targeted modifications to the fuel gas supply pipelines, and simultaneously improved safety devices such as pressure interlock controls and emergency shut-off valves, thereby successfully replacing the function of the original water-gas compressors in supplying gas. The project was officially put into operation in July 2025. Operation since its commissioning has shown that the synthesized refined gas meets all the key technical requirements regarding calorific value, pressure, temperature, etc., for the operation of permanent lights, without causing any adverse effects on the existing production system. In 2025, Kaiyang Chemical also carried out replacements for the burner seats in the gasification furnaces, upgrades to reduce resistance and improve efficiency in the shift converters, and replacements for the high-pressure steam pipelines, all to keep the facilities in optimal operating condition. In addition, technological innovations such as improving the thermal efficiency of boilers and upgrading gasification oxygen heaters are pursued to achieve simultaneous improvements in production capacity and energy efficiency, thus securing a win-win situation in terms of economic benefits and sustainable development. Guizhou Kaiyang Chemical Co., Ltd. uses German Collin CCG powder gasification technology to produce 500,000 tons of synthetic ammonia. It was completed and put into operation in 2012. Gasification uses 2 Corning furnaces with a capacity of 1,500 TPD each.
