According to the Yichang government website, in 2026, Hubei Jinkong Gas will collaborate with the Department of Automation at Tsinghua University to advance the development of advanced process control systems. Taking system optimization as a starting point, and through the deployment of intelligent systems, efforts will be made to reduce overall energy consumption by another 5%, increase overall production capacity by 4%, and boost output value by 10%. By 2026, Jincheng Gas Company will also carry out intelligent upgrades to the gasification unit, with the gasifier as the core, to establish a high-precision digital twin and intelligent control system, thereby turning it into the first intelligent benchmark project in China to be applied in the coal pulverization pressurized gasification process. According to Xiongfeng Dangyang, this year, Jinkong Gas will lay dedicated liquid ammonia pipelines for Hubei Huiyang New Materials Co., Ltd. After the project comes online, it will generate an additional demand for liquid ammonia of 50,000 to 100,000 tons per year. This not only helps to ensure a stable supply of raw materials for downstream industries but also reduces transportation costs significantly, thereby assisting enterprises in the park to cut carbon emissions and improve their environmental performance. Hubei JinKong Gas has successively been recognized as a **high-tech enterprise, approved to establish an enterprise technology center in Hubei Province, and awarded an AAA credit rating in China’s nitrogen fertilizer and methanol industry; it is also classified as a Grade A enterprise in terms of performance for industries affected by severe air pollution in Hubei Province. In 2025, it was awarded the title of Advanced Collective in Yichang City. The first phase of Hubei JinControl project, involving the conversion of production capacity to 550,000 tons per year of ammonia and alcohol, utilizes an optimized version of Saiding’s gasification process (5 JM-S furnaces), along with Saiding’s core technologies for shift reaction, heat recovery, and low-temperature methanol washing. This setup enables an annual production of 550,000 tons of ammonia, while also generating approximately 100,000 tons of LNG as a by-product. In May 2024, the 550,000-ton ammonia alcohol project completed its entire production process.
