According to Orchid Group, on March 11, 2026, the kick-off meeting for the project on research and application of the full-acidic process technology for the hydrogen peroxide production facility at the New Materials Branch was held successfully, marking the start of efforts to advance this project. The project teams from China Tianchen Engineering Co., Ltd. (EPC general contractor), Jiangsu Zhongxu Technology Co., Ltd. (process package provider), and Sinochem Second Construction Group Co., Ltd. (constructor), along with representatives from the corporation and the New Materials subsidiary, attended the project kick-off meeting. Full-acidic conversion involves transforming the hydrogen peroxide production plant from its current anthraquinone process with alternating acid and base beds to a full-acidic production process using anthraquinone and fixed-bed reactors. According to the bidding information published on the National Public Resources Trading Platform (Shanxi Province), after the renovation, the production capacity of the hydrogen peroxide plant will be 200,000 tons per year, with a hydrogen peroxide concentration of 27.5%. The project investment is estimated at 49.5 million yuan, with a construction period of 11 months. Completion of the machinery installation is planned by the end of October 2026. The main production facilities of Orchid Group’s New Materials Branch include a hydrogen production plant capable of producing 131 million standard cubic meters of syngas per year, a hydrogen peroxide plant with an annual capacity of 200,000 tons, a cyclohexanone plant with an annual capacity of 120,000 tons, an ammonia oxime production plant with an annual capacity of 140,000 tons, a caprolactam rearrangement plant with an annual capacity of 140,000 tons, and a ammonium sulfate plant with an annual capacity of 224,000 tons.
