At 11:30 on April 10, 2026, with the successful closing of the incoming cable cabinet in the 10kV distribution room and the successful completion of the busbar impact test, it was marked that the Jianfeng Chemicals project for the annual production of 50,000 tons of dimethyl carbonate (DMC) had achieved successful power supply for the first time. According to the website of the Fuling District Government in Chongqing, Chongqing Jianfeng’s 50,000-ton per year production of dimethyl carbonate utilizes the two-step urea process developed by the Shanxi Institute of Coal Chemistry under the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Propylene carbonate is prepared using 1,2-propanediol and solid urea as raw materials, with liquid ammonia as a by-product ; Dimethyl carbonate is prepared from propylene carbonate and methanol, with 1,2-propanediol as a by-product; this 1,2-propanediol is recycled. The product composition of the project includes 10,000 tons per year of battery-grade dimethyl carbonate and 40,000 tons per year of industrial-grade dimethyl carbonate.
