Daqing Petrochemical will produce 459,000 tons of urea in 2025, once again using Shutai low-temperature shift catalysts

According to the China Petroleum News Center, in 2025, Daqing Petrochemical produced 459,000 tons of urea, an increase of 4,600 tons compared to the previous year, with a product quality rate of 100%. According to a report from Sichuan Shutai Chemical in May 2026, the company won the bid for the second round of procurement for low-temperature shift catalysts by the Petrochemical and Fertilizer Department of Daqing Petroleum in China for the year 2026. The winning bid pertains to SCST-231 model low-temperature shift catalyst, with a purchase quantity of 96.7 m3. In 2022, Daqing Petrochemical Company used the Sichuan Shutai SCST-231-53 low-temperature shift catalyst for the first time. The fertilizer plant of Daqing Petrochemical Company uses oilfield gas as raw material, and through stages of conversion, shift reaction, decarburization, and methanation, ammonia is synthesized. Urea is produced in the Netherlands using the carbon dioxide stripping method. The capacity is 300,000 tons of synthetic ammonia and 480,000 tons of urea.
