Work begins on technical upgrades to the lump coal processing facilities at Sanning Chemicals / Source: Sanning Chemicals Date: 2020-08-17 Clicks: 12 On the morning of August 14, sounds of pneumatic hammers could be heard coming from Lines 1 and 2 in the raw material processing area of Sanning Chemicals’ urea factory. Inside the security barriers set up around the area, several workers were bending over, holding pneumatic drills in their hands and drilling into the concrete floor at the marked positions – a sign that the project to switch to burning lump coal had officially begun. It is understood that after the company decided that the urea plant should first switch from using briquetted coal to lump coal, the workshop promptly developed a plan; the transformation will be carried out mainly by extending and adding some conveyor belts. This solution does not affect the existing briquette production facilities, while enabling the rapid commissioning of the conversion from briquettes to lump coal. At present, while the foundation is being poured, all the materials required for the technical upgrades have been delivered to the site where work on their installation has begun. By mid-September, the workshop will, depending on the progress of equipment installation, decide on the appropriate time to integrate the single-line crushing system with the conveyor belts of the drying area.
