According to a report from Wuhuan Company in May 2026, the company signed an EPC general contract for a project aimed at the comprehensive utilization of 220,000 tons per year of carbon dioxide, with Hubei Xinyi Chemical Co., Ltd. Wang Yu, General Manager of Hubei Xinyi Chemical Co., Ltd., and Fei Anqing, Deputy General Manager of Wuhuan Company, attended the signing ceremony. Hubei Xinyi Chemical’s 220,000 tons per year carbon dioxide comprehensive utilization project makes use of the carbon dioxide generated by existing facilities; using liquid ammonia as the main raw material and an improved carbon dioxide stripping process, it produces 300,000 tons per year of urea. Xinyi Chemical currently has an annual production capacity of 460,000 tons of synthetic ammonia and 90,000 tons of methanol, for a total of 550,000 tons of ammonia and methanol products. In February 2026, Hubei Xinyi Chemical Co., Ltd.’s 220,000 tons per year carbon dioxide comprehensive utilization project passed the energy conservation review conducted by the Hubei Provincial Development and Reform Commission.
