Due to the project renovation, the rotameter previously used for measuring LPG (gas) is now used to measure NG (gas) flow. However, the measured NG flow reading is not the actual reading. The rotameter was originally purchased specifically for measuring LPG; since it wasn’t possible to get it in time, it is currently being used temporarily to measure NG. How is the conversion done? I would like to ask about the conversion formula and its principle. Parameters such as pressure, density, and temperature are known

The conversion is related to the square root of density:)(there’s a formula in the book) Q_new = Q_old * (ρ_old/ρ_new)^0.5
Using the formulas in the book, a rough estimate should work fine. I’ll use it for a while. If precision is required, it becomes difficult; factors such as pressure, temperature, and the gas expansion coefficient need to be taken into account
A rotameter should measure volumetric flow rate, right? It’s possible to calculate the volumetric flow rate under standard conditions using the parameters at the actual operating conditions; an approximate calculation can be done using the ideal gas law.
