Since some sodium chlorate was left over from previous groundwater treatment, I’m asking whether sodium chlorate can be added directly to industrial circulating water, and what reactions will occur as a result of adding it
What is the purpose of adding it? Is it to kill microorganisms? Or something else?

The water quality will definitely have an impact; what concentration do you plan to use?
Circulating water has an increased conductivity, as well as a bactericidal effect.

The properties of sodium chlorate differ significantly from those of sodium hypochlorite. In neutral conditions, sodium chlorate remains very stable and does not have any significant bactericidal effect; moreover, it also lacks any corrosion-inhibiting or scale-preventing properties. Who in the factory came up with such an idea?

Sodium chlorate primarily has an oxidizing effect, and it can oxidize the COD in circulating water.
