As described in the title, this is a 500kt/a acid production system using flue gas from smelting processes; hydrogen peroxide is employed for desulfurization. The hydrogen peroxide storage tanks contain solutions with a concentration of 27-30%, while the concentration of hydrogen peroxide in the circulating liquid is quite low after dilution; Due to increasing environmental regulations regarding the levels of solid particulates and acid mist in exhaust gases, it is planned to use a wet electrostatic precipitator after desulfurization with hydrogen peroxide in order to reduce these levels. I found many reports online about hydrogen peroxide explosion accidents, and they were quite serious. I would like to ask industry professionals: when this type of process design is in operation, is there any possibility of an explosion occurring in the wet electrostatic precipitator due to discharge from the electrostatic precipitator, and what is the extent of that risk? Are there any peers using this process?

What is the desulfurization efficiency of hydrogen peroxide? Does it affect denitration?
This post was last edited by hnfxl689 on 2019-5-22 09:40. According to the monitoring data, hydrogen peroxide shows a considerable effect in desulfurization, but it contributes almost nothing to denitrification (0.4%, at low concentrations of hydrogen peroxide)
I have never used such a high concentration, so I am not sure about the effects yet.
