Our company operates a C3C4 combined dehydrogenation unit, which uses the low-temperature propylene and ethylene refrigerants supplied by propylene compressors and ethylene compressors to cool the product gas coming from the reactor. The propylene compressor is a turbine, with propylene as the working medium, while the ethylene compressor is an electric centrifuge, using ethylene as its working medium. May I ask, can propane and ethane be used as refrigerant agents?
The choice of refrigerant depends mainly on whether it is possible to reach the temperature of the medium that needs to be cooled; if the temperature is sufficient, there are no issues with the properties of the medium
