Calculate the diameter based on the standards for the third floor, and then determine the height using the residence time. If strict requirements are imposed on the liquid droplets in the gas, a mesh screen is added; otherwise, it isn’t necessary. Add a margin of 20% to 30% to the calculated diameter, and separation will definitely occur in all cases.
I think it is necessary to create several channels so that the droplets trapped against the inner wall can quickly form a film and flow down, eventually gathering at the drainage outlet below.
It is recommended that the inlet be designed to enter along the tangent to the pipe wall; If the amount of entrained gas is not very high, the baffle does not need to be as large ; If there is concern that liquid foam may enter the gas phase system later on, a foam detection alarm device should be installed at the top (and the feed rate should also be adjusted accordingly based on the actual process conditions).
