Fongyuan Bio signs technology cooperation agreement with Marubeni Japan for sugar production from non-food biomass straws and polylactic acid production

Recently, Fengyuan Biology entered into a strategic partnership with Marubeni (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., one of Marubeni Corporation’s largest overseas subsidiaries in Japan. Marubeni will leverage Toyohara Bio’s technologies for producing sugar from straw and polylactic acid from sugar, and invest resources to support the research and development of downstream products based on polylactic acid. It aims to promote the use of biodegradable materials in fields such as packaging and textiles. Utilizing its global sales network, Marubeni will help Toyohara Bio open up international markets for its eco-friendly new materials, particularly in regions with a strong awareness of environmental protection such as Japan, Europe, and the United States. In addition, the two sides will also explore joint opportunities in areas such as bioenergy and biomaterials to contribute to global sustainable development. This partnership with Fengyuan Biology represents an important step for Marubeni in strengthening its presence in the Chinese market.
