Gentlemen, does every device in the installation need lightning protection?
It shouldn’t be the case; since some devices share the same grounding system, it’s clear that there’s no need to install lightning protection measures for each device! A building usually has only two to three grounding wires; there’s no requirement for one grounding wire per room, right?
This is required by the design specifications; it must be included.
Lightning protection is essential! It’s just some screen covers!
Those located at high elevations in the plant area and that are classified as flammable and explosive hazardous chemicals all require lightning protection and grounding; the design specifications specify specific requirements for this
Some are necessary, but it’s not necessary to have them all.
It's necessary. The lightning protection network should be installed based on the layout of the equipment and its height, along with proper equipotential bonding. Since the severity of lightning damage varies from place to place, there are corresponding standards in place.
