A major risk is the oxygen content in the recovered oil and gas; when gasoline is loaded, poor sealing at the transfer hoses and the tank tops of the tankers can cause the oil and gas recovery system to draw in air. If it exceeds the limit, the explosive limit is reached in the absorption tower at 150 degrees. May I ask how the original poster controls the oxygen content in the recovered oil and gas?
First, you need to check whether the operating conditions of your equipment’s process permit it. It’s allowed if it’s within the range; it’s not allowed if it’s outside the range.
What you are absorbing is a mixture of oil vapor and air, and this certainly poses risks, as it may fall within the explosive range. Strict anti-static and explosion-proof measures are necessary. It’s best to leave this task to design firms or manufacturers specialized in VOCs handling; attempting to do it on your own can easily lead to problems
