Guys, can the heat exchanger in the picture be used for the vaporization of liquid chlorine? What type of heat exchanger is it in terms of form? Thank you!
……For the coil, liquid chlorine enters from below, while hot water is passed through the tank; however, both the inlet and outlet for liquid chlorine and chlorine gas are located at the top, making it difficult to connect nitrogen trichloride pipes there. We have similar carburetors; the liquid chlorine inlet is located at the bottom of the tank :)

This is a coil-type vaporizer, which belongs to the category of surface heat exchangers
It’s not common for the carburetor liquid to enter from below.
The sizes of the pipe openings are as follows: N4 is the inlet for liquid chlorine, N2 is the inlet for steam, N5 is the outlet for chlorine gas, L1 and L2 are the liquid level ports, and N3 is the outlet for condensate or steam
The risk of liquid chlorine vaporization is very high; visual inspection of this diagram should be sufficient, but any doubts should be raised with the design institute and the manufacturer to ensure safety
This is a diagram I saw in a factory; I think it would be better to use an external shell-and-tube heat exchanger, with liquid chlorine entering at the lower end and chlorine gas exiting at the upper end. Using 75°C hot water as the heat medium will help to effectively control the level of nitrogen trichloride inside the heat exchanger, thereby reducing risks. It’s because this drawing was also provided by the equipment manufacturer, and after reviewing it I had some doubts, so I’m posting this to see what others think!
