During operation, horizontal spiral centrifuges often need to run at high speeds, which places high demands on their bearings. Whenever it is found that there are issues with the bearings of the drum that require replacement, what steps should be taken to ensure that the performance of the horizontal screw centrifuge is not compromised? First of all, we recommend that a professional carry out the replacement process; if you insist on doing it yourself. Therefore, you need to have professional tools on hand when performing the disassembly work. When removing the bearing at the small end of the drum of a horizontal spiral centrifuge, the bolts on the end plate of the main pulley should be removed first, after which a jacking screw can be used to take out the end plate. During this process, it is important to ensure that the screws are under equal stress and do not tilt; then remove the end pressure plate, and use a three-legged puller to extract the pulley. At the same time, when removing the parts, don’t forget to mark them so as to facilitate reinstallation. Next, remove the flat key, the screws at the tapered end of the groove, the bearing seat seal ring, and the O-ring. Place a load-bearing object on the end face of the drum bearing of the horizontal spiral centrifuge, and use a three-legged gripper to pull out the bearing housing, bearing cover, bearing, and shaft sleeve, etc. After the small-end bearing has been removed, it is time to remove the large-end bearing. Professional tools are also required; the specific steps are: remove the bolts from the flange, and then take off the differential as well as the spline shaft. Next, loosen and remove the bolts on the shaft end pressure plate, and use appropriate jacks to push out the shaft end pressure plate. It is also important to ensure that the force applied to the screws is consistent when removing the large-end bearings of the horizontal screw centrifuge, so as to prevent any tilting. Place a load-bearing body on the end face of the shaft, use a three-legged puller to pull out the coupling flange and the bearing seat seal ring together, and then remove the flat key. In fact, there is hardly any significant difference between these two processes. Operators should pay attention to this and also keep records, to facilitate the reinstallation process. Place a load-bearing object on the end face of the shaft, then use a three-legged puller to simultaneously pull out the bearing sleeve body, bearing sleeve cover, bearing, and bushing. Make corresponding marks on the bearing sleeve body of the decanter centrifuge.
