Seeking advice: What method is used for loading liquid nitrogen, liquid oxygen, and liquid argon into air separation units? Domestic standards and specifications do not specify clearly what design approach should be used Is it necessary to install loading swivels?
It’s sufficient to use a metal hose specifically designed for liquid oxygen for the connection. There are quick connectors, as well as some filling facilities on the tank. No design is needed, right? According to the petrochemical industry regulations, for Category B liquids that require loading via loading nozzles, there are no clear specifications regarding liquid nitrogen and liquid argon. There might also be an automatic control system such as a gauge box; it’s probably not just a simple metal hose.

Normal units that have their own vehicles are equipped with specialized oxygen, nitrogen, and argon gas hoses, along with corresponding connectors, to prevent accidental operation by personnel. During loading, interlocks based on the weight indicated by the scale, pipeline pressure, and tank pressure are in place to prevent overcharging. Third-party vehicles use swivel joints and metal hoses for connections. Generally, the upper valve is used for filling before loading to prevent overpressure in the tank.
