I’m working on a project that is designed in accordance with petrochemical standards; there is a liquid ammonia tank area, and there’s also a Class A facility nearby. What should be the appropriate distance between the two?; It is the same as in the case of liquefied hydrocarbons regarding the spacing between liquid ammonia storage areas. It is not clear whether there are any regulatory requirements regarding the distance between liquid ammonia tanks and other equipment; should it be classified as a Class B flammable liquid or as a liquefied hydrocarbon? ; Seeking help from all the experts here ;
GB50160 only specifies that the spacing between liquid ammonia storage tanks should be determined based on liquefied hydrocarbons; it does not require that the spacing from such tanks to other facilities be calculated using the same criteria. Table 2-4 in Document No. 115 of the \"Technical Specifications for Safe Production of Liquid Ammonia Storage and Loading/Unloading in Shandong Province (Trial Version)\” also specifies spacings based on Class B liquids

Thank you for helping me out with the handshake issue; I checked it, and indeed it’s as you said; But the authorities have provided a response (see image); the general idea is to refer to local standards, yet those standards do not specify requirements regarding the distance from other buildings. How should this be interpreted? ;
Why is it Category B? Ammonia lightning: -54°C (CC) ; Saturated vapor pressure 0.5 MP (4.7°C)
GB50160-2008 (2018 edition), Clause 3.0.2 – Table 2A: Liquid ammonia is present; Ammonia is listed under Category B in the explanatory notes to the current building codes.
