Question: Could an expert explain this to me? ! ! I’ve always been confused about siphon reboilers: one type has the vapor flowing out of the oil collection tank in the tower, entering the reboiler where it is heated before returning to the bottom of the tower; while in another type, the vapor is drawn from the bottom of the tower, heated in the reboiler, and then returned to the vaporization section at the bottom of the tower. What is the difference in the design of these two types? Which one is more reasonable or effective? In the former, the liquid phase is at a higher level than the gas phase; in the latter, it is the opposite.
A siphon reboiler is a device used to heat a liquid and convert it into a gas phase.
