In November 2024, the 6-megawatt distributed gas power plant at Dongda, operated by Jinju Coal, Electricity, and Chemicals Company under Jinneng Holding Equipment Manufacturing Group, successfully completed a 72+24 hour trial operation and was officially put into commercial operation. It is the first gas power plant in China to operate successfully before a mine began production. It is reported that this power plant primarily utilizes low-concentration gas from the Dongda coal mine, which is under construction by Jineng Holding Group, for power generation. The first phase of this project is currently in operation, with an installed capacity of 6 megawatts. During the construction of the Dongda Coal Mine, Jinju Coal, Electricity and Chemical Company, as the main entity responsible for gas utilization, planned to build low-concentration gas power plants in the vicinity simultaneously with the mine construction.
