Does the expiration date of bursting discs start from the date of manufacture or the date of installation and commissioning? If the bursting discs are purchased and have not been used for more than 3 years, can they continue to be used? How long should they be used? Are there clear corresponding regulations?
The design service life of the bursting disc is calculated from the date of installation and commissioning. Generally speaking, if the bursting disc has not been used for more than 3 years after purchase, it is recommended not to use it again. This is because the rupture disc may be affected by factors such as environment and storage conditions if it has not been used for a long time, resulting in performance degradation or failure. Please refer to the relevant specifications and standards for the specific usage period. Different industries and types of bursting discs may have different requirements and standards. Therefore, before using bursting discs, you should refer to the corresponding specifications to clarify the service life and inspection cycle to ensure safety and reliability. .
The regulations say that it should be replaced every 2-3 years under harsh conditions of use. This is incorrect. The maximum period shall not exceed three years. Based on our on-site experience, as long as the pressure approaches 90% of the maximum pressure of the bursting disc more than three times, it must be replaced in time.
