Under the current legal standards and regulations, can heat exchangers, reaction vessels, and intermediate tanks made of glass (pure transparent glass, not quartz glass) be used in the production processes of fine chemical factories? It is not a pilot project; it falls under industrial production, in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry, and involves the production of pharmaceutical intermediates. Are there any regulations or laws that prohibit the use of glass equipment, or that allow its use?
It’s possible, but the volume cannot be made very large due to the physical properties of quartz material. Don’t many laboratory devices use quartz glass? If it is enlarged slightly, its pressure resistance rating is also limited. This special reactor can only be custom-made.
Glass can only withstand negative pressure; if there is excessive pressure, the glass will be damaged. There are also glass pipe ends; in previous distillation experiments, if they were tightened too much, thermal expansion and contraction could cause them to crack. How is this security ensured?
