How can we prevent new projects from turning into renovation projects as they progress? It leads to various disputes, such as contract disputes and delays in project completion. 2. How can we prevent unclear decisions at the initial stage – such as repeated discussions regarding the project’s technical solutions, scale, raw material supply, overall layout, approval of budget limits, bidding approaches and strategies, and contract negotiations – which might result in the owner demanding unreasonable shortening of the project timeline right after the project kickoff meeting, or even asking for measures to accelerate work during that meeting? Feel free to add more strange phenomena to the manager discussion group
1. Strengthen preliminary planning and evaluation to ensure that the project is clearly and thoroughly defined, including but not limited to project objectives, scope, budget, and timeline. Establish clear project management processes and change control systems to handle and document all changes promptly, ensuring that any adjustments are based on sound reasons and go through the appropriate approval process. 2. Establish a sound decision-making mechanism to ensure that all key decisions (such as the selection of technical solutions and the determination of scale) are thoroughly evaluated and confirmed before the project begins. Strengthen communication and coordination in the early stages of a project to ensure that all stakeholders have a consistent understanding and expectations regarding the project, thereby avoiding the need for last-minute rush work caused by information asymmetry or misunderstandings. At the same time, a risk management plan should be established to identify, assess, and address potential risks, thereby reducing unexpected and urgent problems. .
The contract terms should be as detailed as possible, and the contract must be followed
There are indeed some such owners whose research and decision-making processes are lengthy; once a project starts, they rush to complete it at full speed. However, infrastructure development follows certain patterns, and rushing cannot overcome those patterns.
Sometimes, the construction timeline is determined based on the progress of the initial work
When signing the contract, think thoroughly about everything and have it all specified!

Thank you for sharing. It’s a pleasure to give; one reaps the benefits as well
