In the standard HG20652 “Technical Regulations for Tower Design”, I’ve only managed to understand how to determine the dimensions of the anchor bolt seats based on the size of the anchor bolts. However, I have no idea how to calculate the minimum size of the anchor bolts. Currently, only a suitable anchor bolt is estimated, and then calculation software is used to verify whether it meets the requirements. Could some expert please give me some guidance, or recommend a standard for me to learn from? Thank you!
The calculation formula in NB/47041 will not determine whether there are any other more detailed ones
Determining the size of the foundation bolts for the skirt of a tower-type container usually requires considering the following factors: 1. **Load requirements**: including the weight of the tower itself, the operational loads during use, as well as possible wind and seismic loads. 2. **Connection strength**: Foot bolts need to have sufficient tensile and shear strength to withstand the various loads mentioned above. 3. **Installation requirements**: The dimensions of the foot bolts should also ensure ease of installation and maintenance. To determine the minimum size of anchor bolts, you can refer to the following standards and steps: – **Consult relevant design standards**: For instance, GB 50017 “Code for Design of Steel Structures” or HG20652, which you’ve already mentioned. These standards typically provide specific methods for calculating the required load-bearing capacity of anchor bolts. - **Determine the expected type of load on the bolt**: for example, tensile force, shear force, or a combination of both. - **Select the appropriate material**: Anchor bolts made of different materials can withstand different amounts of force. - **Perform calculations**: Use relevant formulas (such as those for calculating tension and shear forces) along with known values (such as the total weight of the tower and other loads) to determine the minimum diameter of the anchor bolts. If you are not confident in your calculations, you can use professional structural design software for simulation and verification, or consult experienced structural engineers. Furthermore, it is also very important to combine practical engineering case analyses with past experience. .
When designing and calculating the tower, the foundation bolts are calculated together as well. There’s software available
It can be calculated according to the standard NB/T47041 for tower containers
