On March 6, the overall design review for the ethanol and acetic acid downstream products project of Yulin Coal Chemical Company was successfully completed, marking a new chapter in the advancement of this project. The downstream projects for ethanol and acetic acid produced from Yulin Coal Chemicals: It is reported that this project was developed by Yulin Coal Chemicals in line with the strategy of \"completing, strengthening, and extending the industrial chain.\" Building on the acetic acid produced by Yulin Coal Chemicals’ own facilities and the methanol produced by Kaiyue Coal Chemicals, this project aims to integrate various elements of the industrial chain, thereby creating an industrial structure that includes both basic and high-end products. The goal is to achieve products that are of higher quality, more diversified, and produced with lower carbon emissions, all as part of a unified planning effort. Upon completion of the project, it will create the only full industrial chain in China that spans from coal to POE, filling the gap in high-end, sophisticated coal chemical products in the Northwest region. This is of great significance for the high-quality development of Yulin Coal Chemical Company. The ethanol and acetic acid downstream products project of Yulin Coal Chemical Company is located in Plot C17, South Area of the Coal Chemistry Industrial Zone in Yuheng Industrial Park, and is a new construction project. The project consists of four parts: a new factory complex, a vinyl acetate plant area, a circulating water tank area, and a reserved area. The total land area of the project is 53.9626 hectares, with a total investment of 6.8 billion yuan. The project is located in Plot C17 of the Southern Area of the Coal Chemistry Industry Zone in Yuheng Industrial Park, and it is a new construction project. The project consists of four parts: a new factory complex, a vinyl acetate plant area, a circulating water tank area, and a reserved area. The total land area of the project is 53.9626 hectares, all of which are permanent land uses. The total investment amount is 6.868 billion yuan, of which the estimated cost for soil and water conservation measures is around 107 million yuan. Construction contents: Include a 300,000-ton/year vinyl acetate complex, a 30,000-ton/year ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene plant, a 50,000-ton/year α-olefin plant, a 50,000-ton/year vinyl oil plant, and a 100,000-ton/year polyolefin elastomer plant, along with supporting public and auxiliary systems. It will be constructed simultaneously with the Kaiyue Coal Chemicals 500,000 tons/year methanol-to-ethanol project. Among them: the vinyl acetate plant consists of two units, namely ethanol conversion and vinyl acetate synthesis. For the ethanol conversion, KBR’s diluted steam method for ethanol dehydration to produce ethylene is employed, while the synthesis of vinyl acetate uses the ethylene-based process developed by Tianjin University. Ethyl acetate is produced using esterification under pressure, heat coupling, and a side-stream water removal process. It consists of 2 sets of 100,000 tons/year units. Each set consists of 4 main towers: an esterification tower, a concentration tower, a wastewater recovery tower, and an acidic wastewater recovery tower. The EVA plant uses the Basel high-pressure tubular polymerization process. The downstream product projects for ethanol and acetic acid derived from Yulin coal chemical processing are constructed simultaneously with the methanol-to-ethanol project. The 250,000 tons/year vinyl acetate plant and associated auxiliary facilities were constructed in advance and put into operation.
