On July 22, the winning bidder for the EPC project of the Yankeda Rongfa Chemical New Materials Pilot Plant and the integrated demonstration project for the production of 20,000 tons of green hydroalcohol per year was announced. Winning bidders: Jinan Petrochemical Design Institute & CCCC Fourth Navigation Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd. & Shaanxi Huajian Engineering Co., Ltd. According to the tender announcement for this project dated July 1, the project is located in the Rizhao Haiyou Chemical Industry Park in Ju County, Rizhao City, Shandong Province. It covers an area of approximately 52.17 mu, and it involves the construction of an integrated production facility for green methanol with an annual capacity of 20,000 tons, as well as pilot workshops and related supporting facilities. Planned investment amount: 280 million yuan. The integrated green methanol production facility consists mainly of units for biomass gasification and syngas purification, as well as hydrogen production via electrolysis using green electricity. Using biomass as raw material, this facility produces green methanol through processes such as biomass gasification, syngas purification, methanol synthesis, and distillation; it also generates green hydrogen from green electricity, with the production process involving catalysts. The annual consumption of green electricity is approximately 75 million kWh, while the amount of biomass used is around 30,000 tons. A pilot plant is being constructed to carry out pilot tests in the areas of new types of electrolytic cells, bio-based and biodegradable materials, high-performance special materials, as well as intermediates for the petroleum chemical, pharmaceutical, and agricultural industries; utility, auxiliary, and environmental protection facilities are also being built as part of this setup. Shandong Shanke Rongdun Circular Industry Development Co., Ltd. is a company established for the commercialization of research results from the Energy Research Institute of the Shandong Academy of Sciences, which is a provincial-level institution affiliated with Qilu University of Technology. Focusing on the new energy industry and related technologies as well as the goals related to carbon reduction, the company is engaged in projects related to ecological circular smart industries based on the high-quality utilization of straw resources; distributed computing centers and smart management platforms; energy storage combined with comprehensive smart energy utilization; industrial energy conservation and projects related to waste heat utilization; biomass gasification technologies and equipment; ammonia-to-hydrogen production technologies and equipment; comprehensive smart energy platforms; as well as services related to carbon cycling, carbon footprint tracking, and carbon trading.
