From August 6 to 7, the PFD review meeting for Yanneng Chemical’s 50,000 tons/year MTBE plant (including butylene isomerization) process package was successfully held in Shanghai. Relevant leaders and technical experts from Yanneng Chemical, Sinopec (Shanghai) Research Institute of Petrochemicals Co., Ltd., the Research Institute of Qilu Branch of Sinopec Corporation, Yantai University, as well as the basic design firm Beijing Petrochemical Engineering Co., Ltd. participated in the event. At the meeting, the various patent holders presented, in separate sessions, the initial process flow design for the MTBE plant (including butylene isomerization), process descriptions, the initial material balance and heat balance, as well as the consumption of chemicals and utility resources. The participating units carried out detailed discussions on topics such as process flow design, system control strategies, selection of equipment and instruments, material balance calculations, and comprehensive heat utilization. Multiple optimization proposals were put forward, and agreements were reached. It is reported that the project includes three process packages: MTBE, alkenes separation, and butene isomerization. Through close cooperation, the various units managed to integrate these three process packages within a limited time frame. Next, all relevant parties must pool their efforts, work together efficiently, and stick to the set deadlines to advance the tasks. By carrying out their duties effectively, they can build a good reputation in the industry. They should also continue to optimize the production processes and reduce energy consumption, so as to achieve a synergistic effect of \"1+1+1>3\", thereby laying a solid foundation for the successful implementation of the project.
