Recently, Xinjiang Yueneng Investment Group Co., Ltd. launched a procurement process for the preparation of a feasibility study report for its project to produce 2 billion cubic meters of coal-derived natural gas per year. The annual production capacity of 2 billion cubic meters of coal-to-natural gas project owned by Xinjiang Yueneng Investment Group Co., Ltd. has completed its internal approval process, with the site planned to be located in the Jiji Lake Park of the Zhundong Economic and Technological Development Zone in Xinjiang. To gain a preliminary understanding of the relevant resource endowments, development conditions, environmental impacts, economic and social benefits, etc., and to provide a scientific and rational basis for decision-making regarding the project, a feasibility study was conducted on the project aimed at producing 2 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year by Xinjiang Yueneng Investment Group Co., Ltd. The feasibility study will examine the necessity and preliminary viability of the project’s construction from aspects such as planning policies, industrial policies, industry and market access policies, as well as overall controls on the use of energy, coal, and water resources. Xinjiang Yueneng Investment Group Co., Ltd. (formerly Henan Coal Chemical Group Xinjiang Energy and Chemical Co., Ltd.) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Henan Coal and Chemical Industry Group, one of the world’s top 500 companies. It plans to invest 20 billion yuan during the 14th Five-Year Plan period to build a coal-to-natural gas project with an annual production capacity of 4 billion cubic meters, while simultaneously advancing key projects such as the Jiji Lake mine with an annual production capacity of 15 million tons. Once operational, this project is expected to enable the on-site conversion of over 15 million tons of coal. The coal-to-natural gas project will not only serve as an \"energy island\" for Henan Energy’s Zhundong Modern Coal Chemical Industry Base, but it will also extend into areas such as coal-to-olefins and biodegradable plastics – high-end chemical materials – thereby facilitating the efficient use of resources and clean production.
