According to Sinochem News, recently, the achievement titled “Development of Key Technologies for a Complex Donor Catalyst System for High-Stiffness, High-Toughness, and High-Flowability Polypropylene,” developed jointly by the **Energy Group’s Science and Technology Research Institute (Low-Carbon Institute) and Guoneng Xinjiang Chemical Co., Ltd., passed the evaluation of scientific and technological achievements organized by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation. The evaluation committee believes that this technology is generally at the international advanced level and recommends accelerating its promotion and application in similar devices. This technology has successively overcome technical challenges such as the multi-parameter nonlinear coupling in aggregate evaluation data, breakthroughs in traditional catalyst technology systems, and the development of prediction models for product design. It has proposed a reverse regulation mechanism for the stereospecific orientation ability of catalysts, resulting in a new evaluation method for olefin polymerization catalysts. Additionally, a prediction model for multi-component composite electron-donating agent formulations was developed, which improves the balance between stiffness and toughness as well as the processability of polypropylene products. Currently. This technology has been industrially applied in Xinjiang Chemical’s 450,000-ton/year polypropylene plant. Since 2023, it has successfully led to the development of over ten new polypropylene products featuring high rigidity, high toughness, and high flowability. The cumulative production volume has exceeded 300,000 tons, generating additional profits of over 90 million yuan.
