No, blast resistance and fire resistance belong to two different conceptual categories; having blast resistance does not equate to having fire resistance. Fire separation distance is a mandatory minimum control parameter used to reduce the mutual impact between installations in the event of a fire. In the layout of petrochemical plants, there are no relevant standards to serve as a basis for justifying reducing this distance by adding protective measures. In accordance with Note 3 of Table 3.4.1 of the Code for Fire Protection Design of Buildings (between industrial buildings), for two factories with fire resistance ratings of Class I or II, the distance between such factories can be reduced to at least 6 m if the lower exterior wall on the adjacent side is a fire wall, and if the roof of the lower factory has no skylights and its fire resistance rating is not less than 1.00 hour; or if the higher exterior wall on the adjacent side is equipped with Class A fire doors, windows, or fire separation water screens/fire curtains ； The distance between buildings of categories C, D, and E can be reduced to not less than 4 m.
