On March 17, the list of candidates shortlisted for the biomass gasification package and technical services project as part of the first phase of Handan’s biomass-based green methanol project was made public: The top candidate is Donghua Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. Donghua Technology has extensive experience in the field of gasification, having expertise in the design, construction, EPC turnkey projects, and operation of over 100 gasifiers, covering various mainstream processes such as fixed-bed, fluidized-bed, and pneumatic-bed systems. At the same time, the company has independently developed the \"Donghua Furnace\" biomass gasification technology (fluidized bed), possessing strong capabilities in fundamental research and engineering implementation. On February 11, a tender was issued for the biomass gasification package and technical services related to the first phase of Handan’s biomass green methanol project. The biomass gasification process package and technical services for the first phase of the Handan Biomass Green Methanol project, including the development of such a process package, technical licensing, technical services, and training services; meanwhile, assisting the tendering party with relevant special evaluations and regulatory procedures. The boundary scope of the biomass pressurized bubbling fluidized bed gasification process package: it starts from the atmospheric-pressure raw material receiving bin of the gasification framework and extends to the outlet of the syngas washing tower; it includes an ash discharge unit; the wastewater is discharged after passing through an ammonia evaporation treatment unit. Project Overview: The first phase of the Handan 180,000-ton biomass green methanol project involves 90,000 tons of production capacity; the project consists of a chemical processing unit and a power island. Chemical processing section: Storage and transportation of biomass feedstocks (pre-treatment outside the gasification and pelleting plant), oxygen-based gasification of biomass using a constant-pressure circulating fluidized bed, purification units, methanol synthesis units, air separation units, as well as utility and auxiliary systems ； Power island section: The electricity and drive steam for the entire plant are supplied by 2 biomass direct-fired boilers combined with steam turbines (bundled materials are brought in from outside the plant). The steam generated by the boilers is used to maintain steam balance in the chemical processing area, while the remaining steam is used for power generation to meet the electrical demands. Steam balance is also ensured through by-products from the chemical processing area and steam extracted from the steam turbines. The main fuels for the boilers in the power island are biomass bulk material and methanol synthesis gas off-gases.
