According to Pu Jing Chemical, from March 29 to 30, 2026, a review meeting for the process package of Hengyi Energy Technology (Turpan) Co., Ltd.’s 2.4 million tons per year production facility for coal-based ethylene glycol used in high-quality fibers was held in Shanghai. Hengyi Energy Technology’s 2.4 million tons per year production facility for high-quality fiber-grade ethylene glycol using coal as a raw material utilizes lignite from the Aidinghu mining area; gasification is carried out using SpaceMai reactors to produce syngas. The syngas is then transformed and purified to separate carbon monoxide and hydrogen. Carbon monoxide, along with purchased methanol and domestically produced nitric acid, is used to produce dimethyl oxalate, which is subsequently converted into ethylene glycol using hydrogen. The project is equipped with an ammonia synthesis unit, and the ammonia produced serves as raw material for the nitric acid production facility. Application of Pujing Chemical’s ethylene glycol technology: At present, companies such as Inner Mongolia Xinhang Energy in China, which produces 400,000 tons of ethylene glycol per year; Anhui Huaihua, which produces 100,000 tons; Pingding Chemical, which produces 200,000 tons; Inner Mongolia Yigao Coal Chemical, which produces 240,000 tons; Etokeqi Jianyuan, which produces 260,000 tons; Sichuan Zhengda Kai New Materials Co., Ltd., which has an annual production capacity of 1.2 million tons (600,000 tons in the first phase) of ethylene glycol; Hengyi Energy Technology (Turpan) Co., Ltd., which has an annual production capacity of 2.4 million tons of coal-based ethylene glycol; and Xinjiang Henglian, which has an annual production capacity of 1.2 million tons (600,000 tons in the first phase) of ethylene glycol, all utilize Pujing Chemical’s technology.
