On April 9, the signing ceremony for the general contract for the DMTP integrated plant project (Phase I) of Shaanxi Yueneng New Materials Co., Ltd., an epoxy resin project won by the HeTu Engineering-Shaanxi Huajian consortium, was held in Shanghai. The contract value is approximately 899 million yuan. The DMTP combined unit under this contract is the core facility of Shaanxi Yueneng New Materials Co., Ltd.’s epoxy resin integrated production project, with a construction capacity of 800,000 tons per year. Located in the Shenmu High-Tech Industrial Development Zone of Yulin City, this project has a total investment of 13.2 billion yuan. It is the world’s first full-industry-chain project for epoxy resins based on coal-derived methanol, and it utilizes a number of technologies that are being used industrially for the first time – including the technology developed by the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, for the direct oxidation of chloropropene using liquid-solid circulating fluidized bed hydrogen peroxide to produce epichlorohydrin, as well as the next-generation methanol-to-propylene (DMTP) technology. Upon completion, the project will fill the gap in the epoxy resin industry chain in the western region, promote the integrated development of the coal chemical and chlor-alkali industries, and serve both as an industrial model and a means for achieving green transformation.
