Recently, the Guangdong Provincial Energy Bureau issued its review comments on the energy-saving report for the technical renovation project of Zhuhai Jinseng Bio Materials Co., Ltd., aimed at increasing annual production capacity to 60,000 tons of bio-based polyester. According to reports, the project is located at No. 177, Petrochemical Ninth Road, Nanshui Town, Jinwan District, Zhuhai City. With a total investment of around 260 million yuan, it is expected to come online in December 2027 ; The main components of the project include renovating the existing factory buildings, purchasing advanced equipment such as prepolymerization reactors, esterification reactors, and mixers, along with related materials, and adding a new production line for bio-based polyester resins ; It is expected that once operational, the facility will produce 60,000 tons of bio-based polyester products per year (specifically polyadipic acid/butylene terephthalate) ; The main buildings include the polyester workshop, warehouse, utility rooms, office building, and supporting auxiliary facilities. The project uses purified terephthalic acid, bio-based 1,4-butanediol, and adipic acid as raw materials to produce bio-based polyesters through processes such as slurry preparation, esterification, pre-polycondensation, and final polycondensation. The resulting product is obtained through granulation, centrifugal drying, baking, and packaging. A distillation and recovery system is employed during the reaction process to condense and reuse the volatile bio-based 1,4-butanediol, while the by-product tetrahydrofuran is purified to 99.6% through a two-column purification process. Upon completion of the project, the key indicators for energy consumption and carbon emissions will be as follows: the annual total energy consumption of the project will not exceed 11,215.59 tons of standard coal; among this, the annual electricity consumption will not exceed 20.7696 million kWh, the annual natural gas consumption will not exceed 7.2294 million cubic meters, and the annual steam consumption (at 1.5 MPa and 200 degrees Celsius) will not exceed 0.2448 thousand tons. The comprehensive energy consumption per unit of the bio-based polyester product in this project is no more than 186.93 kilograms of standard coal per ton. The annual total carbon dioxide emissions for the project shall not exceed 23,893.03 tons, of which the direct emissions shall not exceed 13,984.64 tons and the indirect emissions shall not exceed 9,908.39 tons. The carbon emission per unit of the bio-based polyester product in this project is no more than 0.398 tons of carbon dioxide per ton, while the carbon emission per unit of added value is no more than 0.7133 tons of carbon dioxide per 10,000 yuan.
