I’m looking at the \"Perry’s Chemical Engineers’ Handbook 8th 2008\", and it states that the specific surface area of carbon adsorbents is around 1 km2/kg. That seems incorrect; the specific surface area of activated carbon should be around 1000 m2/g! Who can give some advice? ! Thank you! ! See the figure.
1 km2 = 1,000,000 m2; 1 kg = 1,000 g. 1,000 g × 1,000 m2 = 1 km2
If it’s (km)^2, then that’s correct. The units in this ‘Perry’s Chemical Engineers’ Handbook’ are a bit problematic; it was also a unit issue last time! ! Thank you! !
