Why isn’t it the case that the higher the calorific value of natural gas, the better?
Its calorific value is related to its composition; natural gas is primarily methane, and a high calorific value indicates a low methane content.
Methane has a high content and a high calorific value. Meeting the standards is sufficient; why pursue a high calorific value? Impurities such as H2S and water actually affect combustion and equipment selection, and the cost of complete removal is very high.
