I see that ductile iron pipes are quite commonly used in municipal engineering. If the pipes in the factory are to be buried, ductile iron pipes can certainly be used as well; one minor issue is that connecting branch pipelines with them is not as convenient as using carbon steel pipes. Cathodic protection should be applied when carbon steel materials are used. Galvanized pipes are not suitable for burial underground; it is said that they were banned in the Shanghai area years ago. Thicker HDPE pipes can also be used.
