As the title suggests, the first question: aren’t horizontal tanks and horizontal storage tanks the same thing? I'm talking about storage tanks. Second, what is the significance of nitrogen sealing in horizontal storage tanks? Horizontal storage tanks are medium and low-pressure vessels that are inherently pressure-resistant and do not allow gas to escape; then what is the purpose of nitrogen sealing? I see that many horizontal storage tanks are equipped with nitrogen seals
Nitrogen sealing isolates the upper space of the storage tank from oxygen, which serves as an oxidizing agent, thereby preventing dangerous incidents involving volatile hazardous chemicals
Nitrogen filling is still necessary; I think it’s possible to function without breathing as well. Fill it to 50 Kpa – the temperature will rise to 70 when it’s high and drop to 30 when it’s low – and it won’t get crushed nor will air get in. Storage tanks have been around for decades, and there are comprehensive set of experience-based standards. What’s unclear is whether, when a standard has been in use for decades, it is re-evaluated from scratch when revised, or only the date and version are updated
In a horizontal, sealed low-pressure container, how does air get in?
I mean, horizontal low-pressure storage tanks are sealed by design; they don’t need to expel or draw in air. They are simply pressure vessels – is it necessary to use nitrogen sealing?
Then, when material is introduced into or removed from the storage tank, how is the vapor equilibrium line taken into account?
That’s probably a quality issue with this container – it’s so easy for air to get in
Could you explain in detail what this gas-phase equilibrium tube for material inlet and outlet is? Is there any diagram?
There is no structure that is absolutely airtight; everything is relative, especially when there are connections such as flanges.
How is gas-phase equilibrium achieved when materials are fed into and taken out of the storage tank?
