For direct discharge of fluids to the atmosphere, they should be in a vapor state, below their auto-ignition temperature, and must meet one of the following requirements: – • Flammable vapors with a molecular weight of less than 28.9 (the molecular weight of air). • Flammable vapors that are heavier than air, with a molecular weight of less than 70, and requiring a minimum discharge velocity of 500 fps (152 m/s), based on the maximum capacity of the relief valve. • Vapors of any molecular weight that are non-flammable, non-toxic, and non-condensable
For fluids discharged directly into the atmosphere, in addition to being in a gaseous state and the discharge temperature being below their ignition temperature, the following requirements must also be met: the MW of flammable gases shall not exceed 28.9% (by volume in air); the minimum amount of flammable gas discharged shall not exceed 70% of the MW of air; the flow rate shall be 500 FPS, which is 152 m/s, based on the maximum discharge value of the pressure relief valve; other emitted gases shall be non-toxic, non-flammable, and non-condensable

The molecular weight of the flammable gas lies between 28.9 and 70 (it is heavier than air), and its minimum flow velocity when the pressure relief valve is open is at least 152 m/s; 3. Non-flammable, non-toxic, non-condensable gases of any molecular weight
