Has anyone here experienced nitration and hydrogenation reactions? I’m working on a project that involves these two reactions for the first time, and I’m not sure what precautions to take – after all, it involves hazardous chemicals
For such dangerous reaction vessels, is it safer to use smaller tanks? Currently, we have a nitration tank with a capacity of 5000 liters, two hydrogenation tanks with a capacity of 10,000 liters each. Would it be better to use 4 nitration tanks with a capacity of 3000 liters each and 4 hydrogenation tanks with a capacity of 5000 liters each?
Of course, the smaller it is, the safer it is. What is your chemical reaction, what are the reaction conditions, and what safety measures exist? These details need to be provided; even if nitration or hydrogenation has not been carried out, an analysis is still possible. Without such information, not even a genius can conduct an analysis
