The best approach is to turn on the system, apply pressure in stages, identify the leak points, and resolve the issue completely. If the conditions are not sufficient, the refrigerant can be released, and the area with oil present can be rewelded for repair.
In any chemical processing system, any leaks should be addressed promptly. The same should apply in refrigeration systems as well. 1. Correctly identify the location of the leak, then carry out system replacement and isolation to remove any toxic, harmful, flammable, or explosive substances from the system ; 2. Take necessary measures and implement proper safety precautions to prevent personal injury accidents during maintenance work. 3. When performing hot work, obtain a special work permit first ; When entering a tower or working inside a container, it is necessary to obtain a permit for work in a confined space, among other things.
Larger systems have leakage points; it is best to conduct leak detection in segments. After identifying each leakage point separately, appropriate actions can be taken based on the situation.
There’s not much to say about this; it simply involves checking the contacts. In addition to the connections on the pipelines, the equipment itself also needs to be checked for leaks, as well as the instrumentation area, which is often overlooked. Another thing to note is that the welding points must also be checked carefully; some welding defects may not be detected during inspections, and we have encountered cases where there were gaps in the welds. In short, leak detection requires careful attention; every connection must be checked – there is no such thing as priority!
Any leak must be addressed and sealed; the key is to locate the leak first. I believe that if it cannot be detected through visual inspection, the system has to be shut down, and one must use sight, touch, and hearing to identify the issue. If possible, pressure should be applied in sections, and soapy water can be used to find the leaks.
