I would like to ask the experienced professionals here: while working on the preparation of the process package for a batch-type unit, I encountered a problem. What are the differences between preparing the process package for a batch-type unit and one for a continuous-type unit? Is it because, following the approach used for designing continuous systems, the intermittent process package development process always seems less straightforward than that of continuous processes? There may be many operating conditions, making it relatively complex. The process control is quite complex, right?
Are you referring to preparing a process package or preparing operating procedures? The components of the process package should be the same, but some can be omitted depending on the complexity of the project.
Regarding the material heat balance mentioned, for gap devices, the form of the material balance sheet needs to be changed; it is sufficient to specify the amount and composition of the batch of material, as well as the operation time for each condition within that batch.
