The engineering trial for the optical-grade specialty polycarbonate project carried out by Sichuan Zhongke Zhenxing New Materials was a complete success. 2025-12-24 12:50:46 Recently, the engineering trial for this optical-grade specialty polycarbonate project, conducted by Sichuan Zhongke Zhenxing New Materials Co., Ltd. – a company jointly funded by Zhenxing Industrial Investment, Sichuan Baoshan Group, and the Chengdu Organic Chemistry Company of the Chinese Academy of Sciences – was successfully completed at the New Energy and New Materials Innovation Center in Meishan City. The pilot production process proceeded smoothly, with good consistency across different product batches. This achievement marked a crucial milestone, moving from laboratory research and pilot-scale production to actual engineering trials, and it lays a solid foundation for future large-scale production. Optical-grade specialty polycarbonates are high-end materials that serve as alternatives to imported ones; their products are widely used in lenses for smartphones, security systems, automotive applications, and machine vision systems. However, the related products and technologies have been under foreign monopoly. This engineering test was a complete success, representing another significant achievement for our country in the field of advanced materials. The project team overcame various key technical challenges, including single-unit purification, control of polymerization processes, and regulation of optical properties. The products produced during the trial phase met international standards in terms of key parameters such as light transmittance, refractive index, and Abbe number, effectively filling the technological gaps in related industries in China. This holds positive significance for enhancing the country’s ability to rely on its own capabilities in the new materials sector and for promoting the advancement of high-end manufacturing. Next, Zhongke Zhenxing Company will accelerate the construction of its industrialization bases, continue to carry out product validation and efforts to integrate these products into downstream applications, thereby speeding up the transformation of technical achievements into scalable industrial products. The company aims to achieve mass production and application at an early date, contributing to the replacement of imported high-end materials with domestic alternatives.
