I would like to ask fellow sailors: there is existing circulating water, and its temperature after passing through the cooling tower is 32 degrees. There is a spare cooling tower – is it possible to use it for secondary cooling in order to lower the temperature further?

The outlet water temperature is 32 degrees, which is indeed a bit high; let’s check whether it’s due to high air humidity or high ambient temperatures. If that’s the case, there’s no need for series connection; even if one is used, the effect will be limited. But if the cooling tower is at full load and the temperature cannot be reduced, either series or parallel connection is possible.
This is mainly determined by the ambient temperature and humidity. When the external temperature is high and the humidity is high, the temperature of the circulating water cannot be reduced. If external factors are excluded, a series connection can be effective

Using an ice machine as a cooling source results in high costs both in terms of initial investment and operating expenses. It’s definitely possible to do it if costs are not a concern.
